AI – ACHIEVE Intelligence (in Virology)

It is our pleasure to announce the 5th ACHIEVE Spring School of the Society of Virology, which will take place from March 3rd to 4th in Hamburg, Germany. This year’s workshop is themed “AI – ACHIEVE Intelligence (in Virology)” and aims to show you the opportunities and challenges AI poses to research in virology.

We are welcoming bachelor and master students from the fields of medicine, veterinary medicine and life sciences as well as MDs and PhD students within their first year.

The two-day workshop will feature inspiring seminars by AI experts that will share their experience in using AI for medical diagnostics, epidemiology, protein folding prediction and science communication. You will be able to discuss the benefits but also the drawbacks of using AI as well as ethical implications with top experts from the field. We will provide a hands-on training course where you can try out ChatGPT and co. As usual, we will have a career session where you can learn about career paths inside but also outside of academia including industry, science journalism and the public service.

Applications should include a CV and a letter of motivation (no more than one page). Please fill out the registration form. Successful applicants will receive a scholarship which includes the costs for accommodation and meals during the ACHIEVE workshop and the registration for the annual GfV-meeting 2025 in Hamburg.
